The donation was made under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a programme of the Office of the First Lady, as part of efforts to support fasting Muslims during the sacred month and ease the economic pressure on households.
According to officials, the gesture is intended to provide relief to less-privileged families, particularly amid rising living costs. The rice will be distributed through the mosque’s leadership to ensure it reaches those most in need.
Representatives of the mosque expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful for many families observing the fast.
The Renewed Hope Initiative continues to focus on social welfare programmes targeting women, youth, and vulnerable communities across the country.
