The Osun State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Wasiu Ajadasu has commended the executive of the Osun NUJ Cooperative Investment and Credit Society Limited for competing with other societies and for their efforts in promoting the society towards the betterment of the entire members.
The Osun NUJ Chairman gave the commendation while addressing members of the cooperative society at the 1st Annual General Meeting, AGM, held at the state council of the union in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Thursday.
Comrade Ajadasu noted that by the nature of their job, journalists rarely have time to think of their personal welfare, especially on financial management and business orientation that would enhance the living standard of members.
The Osun NUJ Chairman commended the journalists in the state most especially those who are members of the society for bringing the idea of the cooperative into reality despite the challenges that confronted people currently.
Comrade Ajadasu, however, charged the executive to continue to nurture the association into becoming one of the formidable institutions of envy among others in the state.
In his remarks, the President of the society, Mr Sunday Adediran, who was highly elated commended other members of the executive who have been working with him since their inception into office, pledged to continue to work as a team with them as well as entire members of the society towards achieving the set goals upon which the Cooperative society is organised.
Adediran further enjoined all members not to relent in supporting the society in all ramifications.
Also, the Co-ordinator of the society, Elder Elufadejin Bukola said, “I am happy today to see how the society is progressing and competing with others.
Elder Elufadejin however lauded all members of the society for their unalloyed support to the society.
