Over 1,000 Islamic clerics have come together to offer special prayers for President Bola Tinubu and NNPP National Leader, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, seeking peace, progress, and political stability in the country.
The clerics were hosted by Rep. Abdulmumin Kofa (NNPP-Kiru/Bebeji) in Kiru, where prayers were also extended for the success of Gov. Kabir Yusuf of Kano State at the Supreme Court, according to a statement by the lawmaker’s Media Aide, Malam Sani Paki, on Monday in Kano.
During the prayer session, the clerics recited the holy Qur’an 1,101 times, invoking blessings for peace, progress, and political stability in the nation.
In his remarks, Kofa highlighted his close relationship with Tinubu and expressed his mentorship under Kwankwaso, vowing to continue supporting and fostering a harmonious relationship between the two political figures.
Kofa emphasized the NNPP’s potential as a promising party, open to collaboration, alliance, and merger with other parties, including the APC, PDP, LP, or any group acting in the interest of Nigerians.
He further pledged to utilize his political network to engage key players in Kano politics, working towards resolving issues and de-escalating tensions related to the Kano governorship seat.
Post the prayer session, the legislator extended his generosity by hosting 5,000 primary school children from his constituency, providing them with essential school kits. Kofa reassured the pupils of the federal and state governments’ positive plans, particularly in the areas of free education and school feeding programs, according to the statement.
