Fatima Buratai Called to the Nigerian Bar

Fatima Tukur Yusufu Buratai, daughter of Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff and Ambassador, Lt.-Gen. (rtd.) Tukur Yusufu Buratai, has officially been called to the Nigerian Bar. The ceremony, which took place in Abuja on 23 September 2025, marks her formal induction as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Fatima, who studied Law at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom and the Nigerian Law School, has long been committed to a legal career. Her achievement is being celebrated widely as a proud moment for her family and well-wishers across the country.

In July 2022, Fatima tied the knot with Ismail Usman Tubo in a wedding ceremony that drew dignitaries and close family friends. Since then, the couple has been blessed with the joy of parenthood, following the arrival of their first child.

Her journey from law student to young mother and now barrister reflects dedication, resilience, and balance between professional ambition and family life.
