President Tinubu Departs for Europe Ahead of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday, December 28, departed Lagos for Europe as part of his end-of-year break and in preparation for an official engagement in the United Arab Emirates.

The President is scheduled to participate in the 2026 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026), following an invitation from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. The summit is expected to take place in early January in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a globally recognized, weeklong platform that brings together leaders from government, business, and civil society to shape strategies for sustainable development and climate-focused innovation. The 2026 summit will be held under the theme “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” highlighting the need to align innovation, finance, and human capacity to drive sustainable progress worldwide.

President Tinubu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to global conversations on sustainability, economic transformation, and climate resilience. The summit will offer opportunities for high-level engagements and discussions on advancing development goals through collaborative action.

The President is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
