The annual Islamic fasting according to his Congratulatory Message made available to newsmen on Sunday by his Media Unit, affords Muslim faithful the opportunity to rededicate themselves to religious tenets of piety, tolerance, forgiveness and love.
According to Mayegun Adinni of Irewole/Isokan/Ayedaade Federal Constituency, “As Muslims experiences hunger and thirst, lets sympathizes with those in the world who have little to eat every day.
“Ramadan is a sacred pillar of Islam, bringing divine favor, forgiveness, and abundant blessings to those who observe it with sincerity”.
Senator Oyewumi in his message encouraged all muslims to increase charity in this blessed month, develop feelings of generosity and goodwill toward others.
He also implored Muslims to “increase devotion, be closer to their Creator and recognize that everything we have in this life is a blessing from Him”.
The Federal lawmaker enjoined Muslim faithfuls to make the best use of the special month to earn multiple rewards by extending good wishes to all, give more alms to the poor, increase support for one another in good deeds, and observe all the ethics of the Holy Month.
Senator Oyewumi however, prayed for divine strength and acceptance of the acts of worship performed during Ramadan.
“May Almighty Allah bless our fasting, accept our prayers as acts of worship, and grant us the wisdom to uphold the values of Ramadan beyond this sacred month” he concluded.
