The Renewed Hope Initiative has officially launched its Food Outreach Scheme in Zamfara State, aimed at improving access to nutritious food for vulnerable groups, particularly women and children.
The programme, led by Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, was represented at the event by the Wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima, who joined other prominent women leaders at the ceremony in Gusau.
Among dignitaries present was Fatima Abbas Tajudeen, who described the initiative as a timely and compassionate intervention designed to address the nutritional needs of vulnerable populations.
Speaking at the event, participants highlighted the importance of the scheme in promoting improved well-being and supporting households facing economic challenges. The outreach programme is expected to provide essential food supplies while reinforcing government efforts to enhance social welfare across communities.
The initiative forms part of the broader Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on inclusive development, social protection, and improved quality of life for Nigerians.
Commending the First Lady’s leadership, stakeholders noted that the programme reflects a people-centred approach to governance, anchored on empathy, inclusion, and sustained support for those in need.
The Food Outreach Scheme is expected to be extended to other states as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen national food security and social support systems.
