Several Feared Dead as Suspected Herdsmen Attack Community Near Abuja
Several people are feared dead following a suspected herdsmen attack on Aso A Community, located in Mararaba near Abuja along the border with Nasarawa State.

The violence reportedly began after a clash between a farmer and a herder, which led to the death of the herder. In what residents described as a retaliatory attack, armed assailants allegedly stormed the community, killing several people, setting homes ablaze, and forcing many residents to flee for safety.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the attack caused widespread panic, with families abandoning their homes amid fears of further violence.
Security operatives have since been deployed to the area to restore calm, but tensions remain high as residents express concern over possible additional attacks, including fears of reinforcements from nearby Keffi.
In a related development, a motorcyclist transporting a police officer to the affected area was reportedly ambushed and killed, further underscoring the volatile situation.
Authorities are yet to release an official casualty figure, while efforts continue to stabilise the area and prevent escalation of the conflict.
