A popular event planner, Mina Orupabo, has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Sources said the victim, who was the Chief Executive Officer of Special Bensington Ushers, was attacked on Thursday evening, March 19, 2026, at about 8:00 p.m. along Total Gospel Road, off Peter Odili Road.
According to reports, Mina was on her way to an event venue for a pre-event inspection when the assailants opened fire on her vehicle.
Her driver and another occupant reportedly escaped the attack unhurt, while Mina sustained critical injuries.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later confirmed dead on Saturday.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, with many calling for urgent action to address rising insecurity in the area.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the attack, while investigations are expected to commence to identify and apprehend those responsible.
