Shettima Leads Governors on Sallah Homage to Tinubu in Lagos
Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday led a delegation of Nigerian governors on a Sallah homage and Eid-el-Adha lunch with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos.
The gathering brought together governors from several states, including Lagos, Nasarawa, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, Taraba, Niger, Ekiti, Delta, Ondo, Edo, Adamawa, Benue, Enugu, Ogun and Kogi.
Also present at the event were the deputy governors of Borno and Kano.
Speaking during the occasion, Vice President Shettima reflected on the significance of Eid-el-Adha, drawing lessons from the values of faith, sacrifice and obedience associated with the celebration.
He noted that the teachings of the season highlight the importance of commitment, resilience and selflessness in leadership and nation-building.
According to the Vice President, the path to greatness is not built on convenience but on the willingness to make sacrifices for a greater purpose.
The Sallah homage provided an opportunity for the President, Vice President and state governors to celebrate the Eid-el-Adha festival together while reaffirming their commitment to national unity, cooperation and development.
The event formed part of activities marking the 2026 Eid-el-Adha celebration and underscored the close collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments in advancing the country’s development agenda.
