Shettima Submits Tinubu’s APC Nomination Forms for 2027 Presidential Bid

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, on Thursday formally submitted the nomination and expression of interest forms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, signalling the President’s intention to seek the party’s ticket for the 2027 presidential election.

The forms were submitted at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

Speaking after the submission, Senator Shettima called on party faithful, governors, lawmakers, and stakeholders to rally behind President Tinubu’s bid for a second term, saying the President had demonstrated courage and capacity in steering Nigeria through economic and social challenges.

“We are here, first, as Nigerians, and secondly as members of the APC, to submit this very priceless nomination form of our dear President and leader, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he seeks to lead us for another four-year term,” Shettima said.

The Vice President said the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration had produced positive socio-economic results, adding that the President had taken difficult but necessary decisions to stabilise the economy and secure the nation’s future.

“His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has delivered on the mandate of renewal, stability, and national rebirth. He has steered this ship through turbulent waters with courage, taking difficult but necessary decisions to stabilise the economy, restore confidence, and prepare Nigeria for a more sustainable future,” he stated.

Shettima urged Nigerians and party members to support the President’s candidature ahead of the 2027 elections.

Also speaking at the event, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, commended President Tinubu’s leadership, saying his reforms had placed the country on the path of recovery and progress.

The National Chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, said the administration’s performance across critical sectors justified the President’s re-election bid.

Similarly, Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, assured that APC governors would work for Tinubu’s re-election to enable him continue ongoing reforms and development programmes.

Governors from several APC-controlled states, members of the National Assembly, and party officials attended the event, which party leaders described as the formal commencement of President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign process.
