Show more commitment to your children’s education, Osun first lady urges parents

Wife of the Osun State Governor, Chief. Mrs. Titilola Adeleke on Thursday urged parents to show more commitment to the general activities of their children in their academic pursuit.

Mrs Adeleke who made this known in her keynote address delivered at the flagging-off ceremony for the distribution of exercise books to public schools, held at the Local Government Service Commission hall, State Secretariat, said this would go a long way in enhancing their children’s success in their studies.

The Osun first lady said, it is not enough to pay their children’s tuition and provide other requirements, parents must also check their activities.

Mrs Adeleke said, the flag-off ceremony of the distribution of exercise books to public primary and secondary schools pupils as well as students in the state is one of the many interventions of the Renewed Hope Initiative of the office of the first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu as a way of bringing better life for the parents.

According to Mrs Adeleke, “today’s flag off ceremony for distribution of exercise books is also done in the best interest of our dear children with a view to assisting parents meet the writing material needed for wards. It is one of the education-related interventions across states of the Federation.

“Almost sixty thousands (60,000) units of exercise books were delivered to Osun State for onward distribution to public primary and secondary schools across the state”.

Earlier in his welcome address, the state Commissioner for Education, Hon Sunday Adedipo Eluwole lauded Governor Ademola Adeleke for his love and unalloyed support to education sectors in Osun.

Hon Eluwole described the distribution of the exercise books to public primary and secondary schools pupils in the state as a catalyst to the award of excellence received by Governor Adeleke from the Nigeria Education Loans Fund, NELFUND, for propelling achievement of first position by Osun State in the nationwide enrolment of beneficiary states.

In her goodwill message, the Principal, Ataoja School of Science, Mrs Folake Oketunji who was highly elated commended Mrs Oluremi Tinubu and Mrs Titilola Adeleke for the provision of the exercise books to the pupils and students of both the primary and secondary schools in the state to enhance their study as well as support to the parents.

Mrs Oketunji said, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s efforts in transforming education sectors in the state cannot be over emphasised urging parents to compliments the efforts of the state government by concentrating on the education of their children for them to become a leaders of tomorrow.
