The Save Our Soul (SOS) Children’s Villages Malawi, a member of the Joining Forces Alliance, has joined the NGO Coalition on Child Rights (NGOCCR) and other child-focused organisations in strongly condemning recent reports of child abductions, killings and trafficking in Mwanza, Lilongwe and Mangochi districts.

In a joint stance, the organisations expressed deep sorrow and outrage over what they described as tragic losses of young lives and continued violations of children’s fundamental rights. They emphasized that every child is entitled to life, protection, dignity and justice.
The groups noted that the disturbing incidents expose significant gaps within existing child protection systems and underscore the urgent need for coordinated and decisive action by authorities and all relevant stakeholders.
“We stand in solidarity with the affected families and communities and call for immediate investigations, accountability, and strengthened child protection measures to prevent further harm,” the statement read.
The organisations further stressed that no child should lose their life or freedom due to neglect, systemic failures or criminal activity, urging collective efforts to ensure that every child in Malawi grows up safe, protected and free from violence.
