Support Osun to move forward, Osun LGSC Chairman tasks new deputy directors

The newly-appointed  Deputy Directors in the Departments of Administration and General Services, Finance and Supplies as well as Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics in the Local Government Service have been enjoined to support the present administration in Osun State, under the watch of Senator Ademola  Adeleke, in his desire to move the State forward.

Hon. Tunji Adeleke Jnr, the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Osun State gave the admonition in his goodwill message at the capacity training programme organized for the Deputy Directors, held in the Commission’s Multi-purpose Hall, Abere.

The LGSC Chairman, who was represented by the Commission’s Permanent Secretary, Barr. Adeoye Popoola expressed high expectations of their effective contributions in the realization of government policies and programmes in their various local governments, adding that a lot is demanded of them for meaningful development at the grassroots.

He therefore charged the participants to take advantage of the training sessions to improve their knowledge, skills, and competencies in their council areas for enhanced service delivery.

In his advice before declaring the workshop opened, Barr. Adeoye Popoola, counseled the Deputy Directors to be meticulous and to display a high sense of responsibility in the performance of official duties assigned to them.

He enunciated that their new roles demand being inquisitive, loyal, resilient and tolerant in order to be thoroughly equipped for future leadership positions.

Earlier in his own remarks, the Chairman, Forum of Heads of Local Government Administration in the State, Comrade Wale Adedapo, who welcomed the new deputies into the management team of their respective local governments, assured the Commission that they will be given necessary support to enhance their performance, promising that they will be properly integrated to improve local government administration.

Similarly, the Chairman, Forum of Directors of Administration and General Services, Comrade Hakeem Lawal, also on behalf of his counterparts in the other fora, Dr. Sunday Olaoye and Comrade Dele Oyinlola, appreciated the ingenuity of the Commission in considering the three key departments for the value-added capacity training programme, which will go a long way in equipping them to grapple with the demands of their new offices.

Highlights of the training programme were lectures on Strategies for Effective Administrative Management, Stress Management, as well as Relationship Management, effectively delivered by Chief Sina Mosobalaje, Dr.Yinka Anjous, and Prof Abayomi Adebayo respectively.
