THE REMNANT MOVEMENT AND THE EMPHATIC YES TO UNITY & REVIVAL IN CAC NIGERIA AND OVERSEAS
By Ojo Emmanuel Ademola, General Evangelist, CAC Nigeria and Overseas
At this defining juncture in the life of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas, the question of unity has moved beyond administrative discourse and entered the realm of spiritual obedience. The church stands at a historic crossroads, where the decisions made in this season will determine whether we continue as a fragmented institution or rise again as the prophetic, apostolic, Spirit‑driven movement God raised to shape nations. While some factions remain entangled in the politics of self‑preservation and the comfort of inherited divisions, the Remnant Movement of CAC Nigeria and Overseas has chosen a different path. It has said an emphatic Yes to Unity and an emphatic Yes to Revival. This Yes is not sentimental; it is covenantal. It is not political; it is prophetic. It is not optional; it is demanded by Scripture, history, and the Spirit of God.
This feature explores the theological, historical, and prophetic significance of this Yes, and why the Remnant Movement stands today as the conscience, catalyst, and compass of CAC’s future.
1. The Crisis of Factionalism: A Departure from Apostolic DNA
Christ Apostolic Church was never conceived as a federation of competing interests. Its spiritual architecture is rooted in the Johannine vision of “One Fold, One Shepherd” (John 10:16). Jesus Himself declared that the unity of His flock is not a suggestion but a divine necessity. The founding fathers of CAC—men who prayed until the heavens opened and fasted until the earth trembled—did not labour for a church that would one day be divided into camps, each defending its own turf. They built a movement, not a bureaucracy; a revival fire, not a political estate.
Yet, over the years, factionalism has taken root. It has become normalised, defended, and in some quarters, celebrated. Some factions have grown comfortable with anti‑unity rhetoric, forgetting that division is not a heritage but a wound. Others have institutionalised factional identities to the point where the name “CAC” is invoked more as a label of separation than a banner of shared mission. In many instances, territorial control has replaced apostolic conviction, and the fire of revival has been traded for the politics of survival.
This is not merely an administrative problem; it is a theological rebellion. Scripture is unambiguous: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation” (Matthew 12:25). Division is not a legacy; it is a liability. It is not a sign of strength; it is a symptom of spiritual decay. When factions institutionalise themselves, they contradict the prayer of Jesus in John 17:21—“that they all may be one… that the world may believe.”
A divided church cannot carry a united message.
A fragmented body cannot sustain a revival.
A house divided against itself cannot stand.
The tragedy of factionalism is that it blinds the church to its own calling. CAC was raised as a prophetic movement, a revivalist force, a spiritual lighthouse for Africa and the world. But factionalism dims that light, weakens that witness, and distorts that calling.
It is into this contradiction that the Remnant Movement steps—clarifying, confronting, and calling the church back to its apostolic DNA.
2. The Remnant Movement: Saying an Emphatic Yes Where Others Say No
The Remnant Movement of CAC Nigeria and Overseas is not another faction. It is not a pressure group. It is not a political bloc. It is a prophetic conscience. It is a spiritual vanguard. It is a mobilisation of believers who refuse to allow the apostolic heritage of CAC to be buried under the rubble of human ambition.
Where others say No to unity, the Remnant Movement says Yes—because Scripture says Yes.
Where others say No to revival, the Remnant Movement says Yes—because the Spirit says Yes.
Where others cling to factional labels, the Remnant Movement clings to apostolic identity—because Christ says “Follow Me.”
Where others prioritise political calculations, the Remnant Movement prioritises the leading of the Spirit—because “as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14).
Where others remain trapped in the wounds of the past, the Remnant Movement embraces the possibilities of the future—because “the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former” (Haggai 2:9).
This Emphatic Yes is a spiritual declaration. It is a prophetic confrontation. It is a redemptive insistence that CAC must return to the path of obedience. It is a Yes that challenges entrenched interests, confronts spiritual lethargy, and calls the church back to the fire of its origins.
The Remnant Movement is not merely reacting to division; it is redeeming the church from it. It is not negotiating unity; it is embodying it. It is not waiting for revival; it is announcing it. It is not defending a faction; it is defending the apostolic future of CAC.
3. Why the Remnant Movement Matters Now
The Remnant Movement matters now because the church is at a tipping point. The decisions made in this season will shape the next century of CAC’s existence. The Remnant Movement carries a unique role because it is the only stream insisting on the original apostolic mandate. CAC was birthed as a revival movement, not a political institution. The Remnant Movement restores this memory.
A. It refuses to be captured by factional interests
While other blocs defend their turf, the Remnant Movement defends the testimony of Christ. It speaks to all sides without belonging to any side. It honours the fathers without idolising their conflicts. It calls the church upward, not backward.
B. It embodies Creative Redemption
Creative Redemption is the spiritual posture that sees opportunity where others see impossibility. It sees divine leverage where others see deadlock. It sees a future family where others see factions. It sees the next century of CAC not as a continuation of division but as a reawakening of apostolic purpose.
C. It is spiritually positioned for national impact
A united CAC is not merely an internal victory; it is a national asset. Nigeria needs a revived CAC. The nations need a coherent CAC. The next generation needs a hopeful CAC. The Remnant Movement is the bridge to that future.
D. It aligns with the Spirit’s present emphasis
The Holy Spirit is calling the global church into deeper unity and renewed revival. The Remnant Movement is not inventing a new agenda; it is aligning with heaven’s agenda.
4. The Prophetic Role of the Remnant Movement in This Season
The Remnant Movement is called to reawaken apostolic memory. It must remind the church that CAC is not a brand but a covenant; not a faction but a mission; not a political entity but a prophetic instrument.
A. Reawakening Apostolic Memory
CAC was born in the fires of revival. The early fathers did not gather to negotiate power; they gathered to seek God. They did not organise themselves around factions; they organised themselves around the Holy Spirit. The Remnant Movement must restore this memory.
B. Modelling Unity in Spirit and Practice
Unity is not achieved by negotiation alone; it is achieved by demonstration. The Remnant Movement must embody what it proclaims. It must show that unity is possible, desirable, and spiritually necessary.
C. Mobilising for Revival, Not Rivalry
Revival is the only legitimate identity of CAC. The church was born in revival, shaped by revival, and destined for revival. Any identity that does not lead to revival is a deviation.
D. Speaking Truth Without Bitterness
Prophetic clarity must not be accompanied by hostility. Courage must not be accompanied by arrogance. Conviction must not be accompanied by contempt. The Remnant Movement must be firm without being harsh, bold without being abrasive, and truthful without being toxic.
E. Building Platforms of Convergence
The Remnant Movement must build prayer altars, teaching hubs, digital mobilisation platforms, and national gatherings that gather the scattered flock. It must become a rallying point for all who desire unity and revival, regardless of their current factional location.
F. Preparing the Church for the Next Century
CAC is approaching a generational turning point. The Remnant Movement must ensure that the next century begins with unity, revival, and apostolic coherence. The future of CAC must not be a repetition of the past; it must be a redemption of it.
5. The Biblical Foundations of the Remnant Mandate
The Remnant Movement is not a human invention; it is a biblical pattern. Throughout Scripture, God has always worked through remnants—small groups of faithful believers who refuse to bow to the idols of their generation.
A. The Remnant in Isaiah
Isaiah speaks of a remnant that will return (Isaiah 10:21). This remnant is not defined by size but by faithfulness. It is not defined by numbers but by obedience.
B. The Remnant in Elijah’s Day
When Elijah thought he was alone, God reminded him that there were seven thousand who had not bowed to Baal (1 Kings 19:18). The Remnant Movement stands in this lineage—those who refuse to bow to the idols of division, politics, and self‑interest.
C. The Remnant in the New Testament
Paul speaks of a remnant chosen by grace (Romans 11:5). The Remnant Movement is a grace‑chosen company, called to preserve the apostolic identity of CAC.
D. The Remnant in Revelation
Revelation speaks of those who “keep the commandments of God and hold fast the testimony of Jesus” (Revelation 12:17). This is the Remnant identity—obedience and testimony.
6. The Future: Why the Remnant Movement Will Prevail
The Remnant Movement will prevail because it aligns with Scripture, with the founding vision, with the Spirit’s present emphasis, with the future of global Christianity, with the cry of the younger generation, and with the prophetic destiny of CAC Nigeria and Overseas.
Factionalism is a temporary detour.
Unity and Revival are the permanent destiny.
The Remnant Movement is the midwife of that destiny.
The Remnant Movement of CAC Nigeria and Overseas is not reacting to factionalism—it is redeeming the church from it. It is not negotiating unity—it is embodying it. It is not waiting for revival—it is announcing it. It is not defending a faction—it is defending the apostolic future of CAC.
This is our mandate.
This is our moment.
This is our Emphatic Yes.
