Tobi Amusan continued her impressive form on the international circuit by claiming victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League on Sunday.
The Nigerian world record holder produced a season-best performance of 12.28 seconds at the Stade Charléty to finish comfortably ahead of a strong field and secure another Diamond League title.
Grace Stark finished second in 12.38 seconds, while fellow American Alaysha Johnson placed third in 12.39 seconds.
Amusan’s winning time equalled her fastest performance of the season, matching the 12.28 seconds she recorded at both the Xiamen and Rabat Diamond League meetings earlier this year.
The competition was held under a revised schedule after an intense heatwave swept across France, forcing organisers to cancel lower-tier youth and regional club events. Despite track temperatures reaching approximately 32 degrees Celsius, the Nigerian delivered a composed and technically brilliant race.
The 29-year-old made a strong start, cleared each hurdle with precision and established a decisive lead before powering across the finish line to claim victory.
The result further strengthens Amusan’s preparations for the remainder of the Diamond League season and reinforces her position among the world’s elite sprint hurdlers as she builds momentum towards the Diamond League Final and other major international competitions.
