UCL: Chelsea beats Atletico Madrid to scale through to quarter-final
Chelsea has scaled through to the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League as the Thomas Tuchel’s side beat Atletico Madrid 2-0 in the second leg to follow up on their first leg 1-0 win to go through 3-0 on aggregate.
The Blues’ first-time qualifier in eight years was sealed by the first-half goal from Hakim Ziyech and a late goal from Emerson’s first touch in the fifth minute of added-on time in the second half.
The home win over Atletico Madrid helped Thomas Tuchel who took over Chelsea from Frank Lampard in January to continue unbeaten run to 13-matchs in all competition.

Chelsea who looked superior to Diego Simeone’s rival Atletico during the Wednesday night game has now gone 540 minutes without conceding as they bossed possession and created enough chances to be hosed and dry before the last minute when they got a second goal on a breakaway.
