Vice President Kashim Shettima attended the 50th anniversary celebration of the University of Maiduguri, where he emphasized the current administration’s commitment to reforming Nigeria’s education sector.

Speaking at the ceremony, Shettima described education as “the most reliable vehicle for national development,” noting its critical role in economic mobility, poverty reduction, social cohesion, democratic deepening, and national security.
“The improved investment in Nigeria’s education sector under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reflects our renewed determination to position the nation strongly within the global knowledge economy,” he stated.
The Vice President highlighted that sustained investment in education has become a core pillar of national development and security under the current administration, underscoring the government’s efforts to strengthen institutions and empower future generations.
