WIMBIZ Participates in WILAN Convening to Advance Women’s Leadership Across Sectors

The Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) has participated in a recent Women in Leadership Across Networks (WILAN) convening, held in collaboration with the Women in Leadership (WIL) Coalition, comprising WISCAR and the Nigeria Governors’ Forum Secretariat.

The convening brought together women leaders and professionals from different sectors to discuss strategies for increasing women’s representation in leadership, strengthening mentorship and sponsorship systems, and addressing structural barriers limiting women’s advancement.

WIMBIZ was represented by Fadimatu Dalil, Dr. Celestina Eke, mni, Furera Isma Jumare, members of the Board of Trustees, and the Executive Director, Omowunmi Akingbohungbe.

Speaking at the event, Akingbohungbe emphasised the importance of intentional leadership development, strong mentorship frameworks, collaboration, and professional networks in accelerating women’s participation in decision-making spaces.

She noted that sustainable progress in gender inclusion requires deliberate efforts to build pipelines that support women at all levels of leadership.

The forum also provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas on expanding opportunities for women and strengthening institutional partnerships that promote inclusive governance and economic participation.

WIMBIZ reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that foster inclusive leadership, strengthen partnerships, and create pathways for women to thrive in leadership roles across Nigeria and beyond.
