Wizkid’s ‘Joro’ Goes Platinum in France, Earns Fifth SNEP Plaque
Nigerian global star Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has achieved another major international milestone as his 2019 hit single ‘Joro’ has been certified Platinum in France.

The certification was confirmed by (SNEP), the official body responsible for music certifications in France. Under current SNEP guidelines, a single must exceed 30 million streams in the country to attain Platinum status — a mark ‘Joro’ has now surpassed.
Nearly six years after its release, the song continues to enjoy sustained global success. In 2022, ‘Joro’ was certified Gold in Canada after recording over 40,000 units in sales. In the United States, the track became eligible for Gold certification by the (RIAA) in November 2024, having surpassed 500,000 units sold.
The latest achievement marks Wizkid’s fifth SNEP plaque, further cementing his reputation as one of Africa’s most internationally decorated music exports.
Since its debut, ‘Joro’ has maintained consistent streaming momentum across key markets, reflecting the enduring global appeal of Afrobeats and Wizkid’s lasting influence on the world music stage.
