The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to a strategic partnership with Mutual Commitment Company Ltd for the establishment of a 3 million tonnes per annum limestone-to-cement industrial complex aimed at driving economic transformation in the state.
Governor Buni gave the assurance when the Group Managing Director of the company, Liu Long, led the management team on a courtesy visit to the Government House.
The proposed project is expected to mark a major milestone in Yobe State’s industrialisation drive and reflects the government’s commitment to harnessing the state’s abundant natural resources for economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development.
According to the governor, the industrial complex will be driven by the Yobe Mining Development Company Limited (YMDCL) to strengthen local value addition, support infrastructure development, attract investments, and position Yobe as an emerging cement production hub in Nigeria.
Governor Buni noted that the initiative aligns with the administration’s broader economic diversification agenda aimed at creating opportunities for youths and boosting industrial activities in the state.
Speaking during the visit, Liu Long commended the state government for its proactive leadership and enabling governance environment, which he said would provide a strong foundation for the company’s operations and partnership with the state.
He expressed confidence that the collaboration would deliver mutually beneficial and sustainable development outcomes for both parties.
