Ajani organises fire prevention training to avert fire disaster in Osun

In order to compliment Governor Ademola Adeleke’s efforts to prevent fire disaster before, during and after the harmattan season in Osun State, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Hon Raufu Ajani has initiated the move to take fire prevention knowledge and sensitization programme to secondary schools and communities in Osun.
Hon Ajani who organised the Empowerment Initiative Training, held at Gbongan Community High School, Ife road, Gbongan in the state, also to commemorates the ongoing second year anniversary of Governor Adeleke in office, said the programme will be a good avenue to equip the people with basic fire prevention techniques and tips on how to handle fire outbreaks.
Hon Ajani who was speaking through his son, Umar Ifeoluwa in the welcome address, at the colourful and well attended ceremony, noted that the incumbent administration of Governor Adeleke priorities the safety of lives and properties of the entire state as well as bent on achieving a liveable and prosperous homeland for the people hence, the need for this programme which would go a long way to reduce the rate of fire outbreaks, it’s damages and disaster in the state.
Hon Ajani who was the former Executive Chairman of Ayedaade Local Government area of the state, appreciated the people that have come from far and near to witness the programme including the students among others.
According to Hon Ajani, “I decided to organize this programme to honour my boss and brother, Governor Ademola Adeleke as he celebrates his second year anniversary in office and now that dry season is approaching to avert anything that may lead to fire disaster”.
While speaking, the Board of Trustee Chairman, Remi Louise Oyedele commended Hon Ajani for coming up with such an essential programme and appreciated the fact that it is well needed in the society, especially now that we are in the harmattan season.
Also in their separate addresses, the State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon Ojo Fafa and Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, lauded the initiative by the Gbongan born politician, Alhaji Ajani, described the programme as a timely one at the point of need in order to avert fire outbreaks in the state.
The facilitator of the programme, Dr Niran Adeleye who delivered lecture on fire prevention, techniques, fighting and rescue decorated the participants, students as well as the two royal fathers of the day, the Olufi of Gbongan and Eburu of Iba who were represented at the programme as Safety Ambassador.
While delivering votes of thank, the organizer’s wives, Alhaja Titilayo and Mrs Bukola Ajani appreciated the people for honoring their husband with their attendance at the occasion while admonishing the participants to comply with the lecture of the day.
Dignitaries at the event includes, Mr Dele Bakare, Mr Olusola Ajala who is the veteran journalist as well as the Special Adviser to the Governor Adeleke on Media and Diaspora, Hon Kamor Adekunle PDP Leader in Ayedaade local government, Hon Sanmi Adeyefa, Ayedaade local government PDP Chairman, Hon Felicia Adeniran for Caretaker Chairman for Ayedaade local government and Chairmanship candidate for the party for coming local government elections together with his Councilors, Supervisors and Special Advisers among others, others are Special Advisers to the Governor, board members, many political leaders and top government functionaries among others.
The target audience are from 4 selected secondary schools in Gbongan which are Gbongan High school Ife Road, Muslim Grammar school Gbongan. Saint Paul’s Anglican Secondary School and Government Technical College, all in Gbongan, Ayedaade Local Government of Osun State.
