The suspects, all reportedly above 60 years of age, are accused of facilitating multiple abductions and providing logistical and financial assistance to criminal Fulani networks operating across parts of the state.

According to security sources, preliminary investigations have uncovered close collaboration between the detained MACBAN leaders and armed gangs responsible for a wave of kidnappings along highways and within rural communities.

Authorities said the arrests followed coordinated intelligence-led operations by military and police units targeting bandit hideouts and support structures. Ongoing investigations aim to identify additional collaborators and dismantle remaining criminal networks in the affected areas.

Security agencies reaffirmed their commitment to restoring peace in Kwara State, noting that sustained operations are underway in identified bandit strongholds to flush out criminals and prevent further attacks.

The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
