The ancient Aghofen was filled with pageantry and pride as Warri Kingdom recorded a historic moment marked by royal presence, unity, and living tradition.
The ceremony brought together His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri; Her Excellency Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; and His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, the Ooni of Ife. Their presence underscored the deep bonds between Nigeria’s traditional institutions and national leadership.
At the event, the First Lady was conferred with the chieftaincy title Utukpa-Oritse of Warri Kingdom, also known as Ugbọnẹ́, in recognition of her contributions and service to society.
According to the significance of the title, her installation as a Chief is expected to usher in prosperity and renewed light for the kingdom, reflecting the confidence reposed in her leadership, compassion, and commitment to national development.
The conferment stands as a proud moment for Warri Kingdom, capturing more than ceremony—it reflects heritage in motion, where history paused to honour unity, tradition, and progress.
