Bauchi Govt dissolves health college management, sets up interim team

The Bauchi State Government has approved the dissolution of the management of the Bill and Melinda Gates College of Health Technology, Ningi, with immediate effect, and constituted an interim management team to reposition the institution.
This is contained In an official press release issued from the Head of Civil Service office signed by Mr Auwal Waziri information officer made available to journalists on Thursday in Bauchi.
It announced that the decision, approved by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, was aimed at addressing persistent challenges affecting the smooth operation of the college.
The statement noted that the newly appointed interim team is tasked with restoring academic excellence, improving infrastructure, and enhancing operational efficiency in the institution.
The team is headed by Alhaji Adamu Mato as Provost, alongside Inuwa Haruna as Deputy Provost, with other members drawn from relevant institutions and ministries.
Mohammed Bello Yakubu will serve as Registrar, while a representative from the Office of the Accountant General will function as Bursar.
According to the release, the interim management will serve for an initial tenure of six months, subject to renewal based on performance.
Its terms of reference include assessing existing challenges, developing and implementing turnaround strategies, restoring stability, improving infrastructure,
“Rebuilding stakeholder confidence, and providing regular progress reports to the government through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare,” he said.
The Head of Civil Service urged the team to leverage their expertise to revive the college, while directing the dissolved management to immediately hand over all affairs to the new team.
