The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has visited Guyaku community in Gombi Local Government Area following a recent Boko Haram attack that left residents devastated.
The visit, which took place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, comes barely a week after a similar attack in Wuro Ladde, raising fresh concerns over security in parts of the state.
During the visit, Governor Fintiri assessed the level of destruction and interacted with affected residents, assuring them of the government’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
He reiterated his resolve to deploy all available resources as the state’s Chief Security Officer to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent further attacks.
“I will use every power within my reach to protect our people and stand firmly with communities affected by these unfortunate incidents,” the governor said.
The governor was accompanied by key government officials, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley; the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Auwal D. Tukur; Chief of Staff, Dr. Edgar Amos; Commissioner III of the Civil Service Commission, Japhet Kefas; and the Executive Chairman of Gombi LGA, Hon. Mark Ishaya.
Also present were traditional and political leaders, including the Kumu I of Gombi, Dr. Aggrey Ali; the member representing Gombi Constituency in the State Assembly, Hon. Rufai Umar Gombi; the member representing Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency, Hon. James Shuaibu Barka; and the District Head of Guyaku, Alhaji Usman S. Fada.
The visit underscores the state government’s determination to strengthen security measures, provide relief to victims, and rebuild communities affected by insurgency.
Residents expressed appreciation for the governor’s presence, describing it as a show of solidarity during a difficult time.
