The Federal Ministry of Education has announced plans to introduce capital grant initiatives for students with innovative ideas and entrepreneurial skills as part of efforts to strengthen youth empowerment and economic development.
The Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Said Ahmad, disclosed this during the 70th anniversary celebration of Kaduna Polytechnic.
According to the Minister, the proposed initiative will complement the ongoing student loan scheme by providing direct financial support to students with viable business ideas and creative innovations.
Dr. Suwaiba explained that the programme is part of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu aimed at empowering young Nigerians through education, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
She stated that the grants would help students transform innovative ideas into practical solutions capable of contributing to national growth and development.
The Minister also praised Kaduna Polytechnic for its long-standing role in advancing technical and vocational education in Nigeria over the past seven decades.
She described the institution as a major contributor to human capital development and urged students to take full advantage of government programmes designed to promote learning, creativity, and self-reliance.
The announcement comes amid ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to expand access to education financing and encourage youth participation in entrepreneurship and skills development nationwide.
