Tinubu to Address Nigerians on Democracy Day
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver a national broadcast on Friday, June 12, 2026, as part of activities marking this year’s Democracy Day celebration.
According to a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the address is scheduled to be transmitted at 7:00 a.m. through the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and the Radio Nigeria.
The statement urged all television and radio stations across the country to hook onto the NTA and Radio Nigeria networks to carry the nationwide broadcast.
Democracy Day is observed annually on June 12 to commemorate Nigeria’s democratic journey and honour the sacrifices of individuals who contributed to the country’s return to democratic governance.
The President’s address is expected to highlight the significance of the occasion and provide updates on key national issues and the administration’s governance agenda.
The broadcast forms part of activities lined up to mark the 2026 Democracy Day celebration across the country.
