Powlesland, a barrister and founder of the River Roding Trust, led a team of volunteers in a major clean-up operation along the River Roding in Barking. Over a 10-day period, the group removed more than 200 bags of waste, including discarded appliances, syringes and other debris, in an effort to restore the waterway.
