The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has recognised outstanding members of staff for their exemplary service, professionalism and dedication as part of activities marking the 2026 Civil Service Week.
Speaking at the award presentation ceremony on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, commended the award recipients for their integrity, commitment and contributions to effective public service delivery.
Kana said the recognition was aimed at rewarding excellence, promoting a culture of high performance and motivating civil servants to remain committed to professionalism and accountability in the discharge of their duties.
He noted that recognising outstanding performance would encourage healthy competition among workers and inspire others to strive for excellence in service to the nation.
As part of efforts to promote staff welfare and healthy living, Kana also donated 400 tracksuits to members of the OSGF Sports Club, urging employees to actively participate in sporting activities to improve their physical well-being and productivity.
The event formed part of activities commemorating the 2026 Civil Service Week, which celebrates the contributions of public servants to national development and encourages improved service delivery across government institutions.
