Operation FANSAN YAMMA Foils Mass Terrorist Movement, Neutralises Scores of Insurgents in Zamfara

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have thwarted a major terrorist movement in Zamfara State, launching coordinated air and ground operations that reportedly neutralised scores of insurgents linked to notorious terrorist leaders Najaja, Dogo Gide, Nasanda and Buba Oris.

Military sources told SpyeTV News that the operation followed credible intelligence received on July 25, 2026, indicating that hundreds of terrorists had assembled along the Bayarzaki Riverline in Anka Local Government Area under the command of the four wanted terrorist kingpins.

Acting on the intelligence, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA carried out precision interdiction strikes on identified terrorist positions at Barayan Zaki and key crossing points along the Bayarzaki Riverline.

At the same time, troops of the 8 Division Strike Force executed a coordinated ambush and follow-up exploitation operation at first light to intercept the terrorists as they attempted to move through the area.

The combined assault disrupted the planned movement of the insurgents, forcing them to abandon their positions and retreat toward Barayan Zaki while attempting to cross the Gummi–Anka Main Supply Route.

To sustain the pressure, troops immediately launched a fighting patrol along the identified withdrawal routes, eventually making contact with the fleeing terrorists at Kombo High Ground along the Anka–Gummi Main Supply Route in Bukkuyum Local Government Area.

During the fierce exchange of fire, troops overwhelmed the terrorists with superior firepower, compelling them to retreat in disarray after suffering heavy casualties.

Military sources confirmed that scores of terrorists were neutralised during the operation.

One soldier sustained injuries during the encounter and was promptly evacuated to the General Hospital in Anka, where he is currently receiving treatment. No military equipment was lost during the operation.

In continuation of the offensive, troops returned to the area on July 26 to conduct exploitation and clearance operations aimed at eliminating any remaining terrorist presence and preventing the criminals from regrouping.

During the follow-up operation, troops recovered 13 rounds of PKT ammunition and one machine-gun round while maintaining a strong operational presence across the general area.

Military authorities said troops continue to dominate the operational environment through sustained fighting patrols, aggressive clearance operations and intelligence-driven missions designed to deny terrorists freedom of movement and prevent any attempt to re-establish their bases.

The latest operation forms part of Operation FANSAN YAMMA’s ongoing counter-terrorism campaign to dismantle terrorist networks across the North-West, degrade the operational capabilities of notorious bandit leaders and restore lasting peace and security to affected communities.
