APC Chairman, Ex-Deputy Governor Praise Velocity Foundation’s Support for Christian Leaders

Former Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Charles Iliya, and the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State, Alhaji Mohammed Inuwa Dantata, have commended the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation** for empowering Christian clergy, describing the initiative as a practical demonstration of unity, compassion and religious tolerance.
The two leaders spoke during an empowerment programme organised by the foundation for Christian leaders in Gombe State, where they applauded the organisation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable groups without discrimination based on religion, ethnicity or political affiliation.
Mr Iliya said the intervention reflects the vision of the foundation’s founder, Engr. Aliyu Muhammad Kombat, whose humanitarian efforts continue to promote peaceful coexistence and improve the welfare of communities across the state.
According to the former deputy governor, empowering Christian clerics will strengthen their ability to continue serving society while fostering understanding and harmony among people of different faiths.
“This is an initiative that deserves commendation because it demonstrates that humanity comes before religious or ethnic differences. It also complements government efforts to improve the wellbeing of citizens and strengthen social cohesion,” he said.
He urged the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation to sustain its interventions, noting that many less-privileged families and religious leaders would continue to benefit from such programmes.
Iliya also appealed to corporate organisations, public-spirited individuals and philanthropists to invest in similar humanitarian initiatives capable of promoting inclusive development and lasting peace in society.
Also speaking, APC State Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Inuwa Dantata, described the empowerment programme as a clear indication that genuine humanitarian service transcends political, religious and ethnic boundaries.
He said the foundation’s decision to support Christian clergy reflects the values of tolerance, compassion and unity that are essential for sustaining peace and development in Gombe State.
> “When people extend support to others irrespective of their faith or background, they strengthen the bonds that unite our communities. This is the kind of leadership that inspires hope,” Dantata said.
He encouraged beneficiaries to make productive use of the support they received and called on the foundation to expand its humanitarian activities to reach more vulnerable residents across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation, Abubakar Danzariya said the organisation remains committed to improving the lives of vulnerable people regardless of their religion or political affiliation.
He explained that the empowerment programme for Christian leaders forms part of the foundation’s broader objective of reducing hardship, advancing social justice and promoting peaceful coexistence across communities.
According to Danzariya, the founder of the foundation, Engr. Aliyu Muhammad Kombat, believes that every citizen deserves an opportunity to live with dignity and access interventions that can improve their quality of life.
He said the foundation would continue to implement projects in education, healthcare, humanitarian assistance, youth and women empowerment, and community development to create sustainable impact across Gombe State.
Danzariya expressed appreciation to religious leaders, community stakeholders and volunteers whose support contributed to the successful execution of the programme.
He reaffirmed the foundation’s resolve to continue building a more united, peaceful and prosperous society through inclusive humanitarian initiatives that leave no one behind.
