In a bid to support the development of Tennis in Osun State, the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun has promised his continued support for Osogbo Tennis Club.

The Speaker made the promise during a courtesy visit by the Osogbo Tennis Club newly inaugurated executive, led by its President, Mr. Abiola Oni to his office.

The Speaker commended the club for its efforts in promoting tennis in the state and pledged to do all within his power to support their activities.

He stressed the importance of sports in nation building and urged the club leadership to continue to promote the sport among youths, while encouraging them to organise tournaments that will discover young talents in the state and expose them to compete at the national and international levels.

“I am committed to supporting all efforts to promote sports at the grassroots level. Sports is a powerful tool for development and I believe that it can play a vital role in building a strong and vibrant society.”

“I am therefore pleased to support the efforts of the Club and I want to encourage you to continue with the good work,” Rt. Hon. Egbedun said.

Earlier in his remark, the President of the Club, Mr. Abiola Oni hinted that they have come to appreciate the speaker and to also seek for collaboration.

“Furthermore, I seek assistance in enhancing the infrastructure of both our temporary and permanent club sites. Improvements to these facilities will not only elevate the experience for our members but will also attract more individuals to engage in tennis, contributing to the overall expansion of the sport in Osun State,” he said.
