In a significant breakthrough, Nigerian Army troops have rescued Lydia Simon, a Chibok girl abducted by Boko Haram terrorists several years ago.

Lydia, previously listed as serial number 68 among the missing Chibok Secondary School girls, was freed alongside her three children during Operation Desert Sanity III in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State. Pregnant at the time of her rescue, Lydia hails from Pemi Town in Chibok.

Simultaneously, troops engaged in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in the North Central thwarted a terrorist mission in Zaki Biam Local Government, Benue State.

Acting on intelligence, the troops ambushed and neutralised three armed terrorists, seizing three AK 47 rifles and four magazines in the process.

The Nigerian Army remains resolute in its commitment to safeguarding citizens and the nation, vowing to continue decisive actions against terrorist activities.
