The Nigerian Army (NA) acknowledges the circulation of a video on social media depicting the apprehension of fraudulent candidates during the ongoing 86 Regular Recruits Intake. These individuals were caught attempting to manipulate the recruitment process, particularly affecting indigenous candidates of Lagos State through deceptive means.

The NA emphasizes its commitment to maintaining a transparent and credible recruitment process aligned with core values of integrity and fairness. The video highlights one aspect of the thorough procedures in place, ensuring the selection of genuine indigenes for specific state-designated slots.

The State Representative, an integral part of the recruitment team, scrutinised candidates’ claims of indigeneship to guarantee the authenticity of their applications.

“The identified fraudulent act by the three candidates attempting to secure vacancies designated for Lagos State indigenes is a serious breach of the recruitment process, and the NA will not tolerate such misconduct,” the Army Public Relations Dorector, Major General Onyema Nwaxhukwu, said, addid that, “a comprehensive investigation will be conducted to uncover the extent of fraudulent activities and identify individuals or syndicates involved. Those responsible will face legal consequences, as the NA is committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice is served.”

Prospective candidates are urged to uphold honesty and integrity throughout the recruitment process. Any attempt to manipulate the process will be met with legal consequences. The NA remains dedicated to recruiting the best individuals to serve the nation, appreciating the public’s support in maintaining the integrity of the recruitment process.
