Arsenal Initiates Talks for Star Striker Victor Osimhen

Premier League powerhouse Arsenal has reached out to explore the possibility of acquiring highly sought-after Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Italian club Napoli, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
The 25-year-old forward has solidified his status as one of Europe’s most prolific goal-scorers during his impressive three-and-a-half-year tenure with Napoli, tallying an impressive 67 goals in 119 appearances across various competitions.
Osimhen’s remarkable performance in the previous Serie A season, where he netted 26 goals in 32 matches, secured him the Golden Boot and played a pivotal role in Napoli clinching their first Scudetto title in three decades.
Despite the striker committing his future to Napoli in December by signing a contract extension until June 2026, speculations surrounding his potential departure have intensified. This comes in light of reported interest from several elite European clubs. Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis recently disclosed that Osimhen is set to leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.
De Laurentiis specified Real Madrid, PSG, and a prominent English club as likely destinations for the Nigerian international, identifying Arsenal and Chelsea as the leading contenders from the Premier League for Osimhen’s coveted signature. The striker, currently on duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, remains a highly sought-after prospect in the upcoming transfer market.
