Buni Assures Yobe Youth of Prosperous Future, Urges Active Political Participation

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, COMN, has assured young people across the state of a prosperous future, urging them to take an active role in shaping the political and leadership direction of Yobe State and Nigeria.

Governor Buni gave the assurance while speaking at a two-day retreat organised by the Coalition of Yobe APC Political Organisations (COYAPO).

The Governor described youths as a major force in the state’s population and political landscape, stressing the need for them to actively participate in democratic and political processes.

He particularly urged young people to participate in the selection and election of competent individuals to occupy political offices at both state and national levels.

“The youth constitute the larger population of the state, and the larger political actors; therefore, you must be actively involved to shape the politics and leadership of the state,” Governor Buni said.

He encouraged the participants to see their involvement in politics as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to governance, development and the future of the state.

Earlier, the Director-General of COYAPO, Alhaji Babagana Modu, popularly known as Bature Goniri, commended Governor Buni for creating opportunities for young people in Yobe to participate in governance and political activities.

The retreat is aimed at strengthening political engagement and equipping participants with greater understanding of their roles in the political process.
