The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) celebrated a significant milestone as the pioneer officer Cadets of Course One commemorated their 60th anniversary over the weekend in Abuja. Surviving members of the historic course gathered for the occasion, where they had the privilege of meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa.

Addressing the veterans, General Musa expressed heartfelt gratitude for their exemplary service to the nation. He emphasised the enduring value of their experiences, underscoring their importance in advancing the capabilities of the Nigerian Armed Forces. The CDS pledged to actively seek their counsel when necessary, recognizing the wealth of knowledge they possess.

In response, Major General Rabiu Aliyu (rtd), Chairman of the Regular Course One, extended appreciation to the CDS for his support towards the 60th-anniversary reunion. He lauded General Musa for his people-centric leadership of the Armed Forces, highlighting his numerous successes in various operations led by the Defence Headquarters (DHQ). Major General Aliyu praised the CDS for his significant impact on the Armed Forces during his tenure.
