Addressing attendees at the commissioning ceremony, the COAS underscored the importance of these structures in providing a dignified space for troops to relax within the cantonment. Represented by Major General AE Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division/Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, the COAS shared insights into the Nigerian Army’s nationwide initiative to expand and remodel existing facilities across barracks. This initiative seeks to provide soldiers with contemporary and fitting facilities to enhance their operational performance, aligning with the COAS’s command philosophy prioritising the well-being of Nigerian Army personnel and their families.

Commending Brigadier General PK Zawaya, the Commander 23 Brigade, for identifying the welfare needs of troops, the COAS expressed gratitude for the brigade’s efforts in combating various forms of criminal activities in the state.

In his welcome address, Brig Gen PK Zawaya acknowledged 0the continuous support received from Army Headquarters and 3 Division. He expressed appreciation for the COAS’s responsiveness to the troops’ needs, noting the high morale of personnel in fulfilling their constitutional duties as a testament to the care and support they receive.
