Durkwa Reaffirms Commitment to Justice, Says Governorship Ambition Not Driven by Desperation
Governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress ( ADC)in Adamawa, Ishaya Inuwa Durkwa, has stated that his political aspirations are driven by a commitment to justice and democratic values rather than personal ambition.
Durkwa made the declaration while addressing supporters, stressing that he is not desperate to become the next governor of Adamawa State but remains determined to fight against injustice wherever it exists.
According to him, the pursuit of justice has been a defining part of his life for more than three decades, adding that society can only progress when fairness, accountability and the rule of law are upheld.
“Injustice has no place in our society. We will continue to defend democracy, uphold justice, and create conditions that allow every citizen to thrive,” he said.
The governorship aspirant emphasized the need for leaders and citizens alike to remain committed to protecting democratic principles and ensuring equal opportunities for all.
Durkwa acknowledged that the struggle for justice and good governance may be challenging, but expressed confidence that perseverance, courage and conviction would ultimately lead to positive outcomes.
“The journey may not always be easy, but with perseverance and conviction, we will get it right,” he added.
His remarks come amid ongoing political developments in Adamawa State as parties and aspirants continue consultations and preparations ahead of future electoral contests.
