Gov. Zulum Appoints Prof. Dlakwa as Acting Vice-Chancellor of Borno Varsity

In a recent development, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has approved the appointment of Prof. Haruna Dlakwa as the acting Vice-Chancellor of Borno State University, Maiduguri.

This announcement was made through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Bukar Tijani, on Wednesday in Maiduguri.

According to Tijani, the appointment of Prof. Dlakwa as the acting Vice-Chancellor was based on the recommendation of the university’s governing council during its 10th meeting held on April 15.

Governor Zulum conveyed his warm congratulations to Prof. Dlakwa on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to perform diligently in the role until a substantive Vice-Chancellor is appointed for the university.

Prior to this appointment, Prof. Dlakwa served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic Services at Borno State University, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to his new position. His elevation to the role of acting Vice-Chancellor reflects recognition of his dedication and contributions to the institution.

The appointment of Prof. Dlakwa underscores the commitment of the Borno State Government to ensuring effective leadership and management within its educational institutions.
