HCSF Urges Grade Level 8–14 Officers to Take Ownership of Civil Service Reforms

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, has urged officers on Grade Levels 8–14 to take ownership of ongoing civil service reforms, strengthen their professional capacity and contribute to improved, citizen-centred service delivery.

Abel gave the charge during his sustained engagement with staff of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), describing the officers as key drivers of the Civil Service.

He noted that officers within the grade levels occupy a critical position in translating government policies and reform initiatives into effective action and tangible results.

The HCSF stressed that the knowledge, competence and commitment of individual officers are fundamental to the effectiveness and sustainability of the Civil Service.

He also emphasised the importance of continuous learning and self-development, urging officers to pursue professional excellence in their respective areas of responsibility.

According to him, investing in personal capacity not only enhances career growth but also strengthens officers’ ability to contribute meaningfully to government business and organisational performance.

Abel further encouraged the officers to cultivate the habit of asking questions, seeking knowledge and remaining open to learning, noting that a knowledgeable workforce is better equipped to make sound decisions, solve problems and deliver quality results.
