IGP Egbetokun Welcomes Dubai Police Delegation: A New Era of Security Cooperation

In a significant move to enhance international security collaboration, Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, welcomed a high-level delegation from the Dubai Police at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The visit marks a pivotal step towards strengthening multi-faceted security cooperation between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

During the discussions, IGP Egbetokun underscored the critical need for joint efforts in safeguarding citizens’ safety in both nations.

He noted the substantial presence of Nigerians in Dubai and UAE nationals in Nigeria, emphasizing that enhanced cooperation is crucial for protecting their interests.

“Our collaboration is not just beneficial but necessary for the security and prosperity of our citizens in both countries,” he stated.

As the Chairman of the West African Police Chiefs Committee (WAPCCO), IGP Egbetokun highlighted the broader impact of this visit, aiming to bolster policing partnerships across the West African region.

He expressed his dedication to utilizing this opportunity to foster improved security collaborations that will benefit the entire sub-region.

“This strategic alliance will pave the way for more robust and efficient policing strategies,” he added.

The Dubai Police delegation, led by Brigadier General Adel Ahmad Moosa Sanqoor, Assistant of the General Director of Criminal Investigations, expressed gratitude for the warm reception.

Brigadier General Sanqoor reiterated their commitment to working closely with the Nigeria Police Force on various mutual interests, including intelligence sharing, joint training programs, and advancements in policing technology.

“We are eager to explore and implement new avenues of cooperation,” he affirmed.

The meeting concluded with a mutual pledge to deepen security ties and explore innovative cooperation strategies, aiming to enhance the safety and well-being of citizens in both countries and throughout the West African region.
