JAMB Registrar Resolves Over 5,000 Pending Complaints in Five Days
The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Segun Aina, has resolved more than 5,000 pending complaints from candidates and other clients within five days as part of efforts to improve service delivery and strengthen the Board’s responsiveness.
The development followed the Registrar’s decision to reinforce the Board’s Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) Unit, with the aim of ensuring faster resolution of outstanding complaints.
According to a statement by JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, Professor Aina temporarily relocated his office to the SERVICOM Unit to obtain first-hand information on the challenges confronting candidates and other service users.
The move enabled the Registrar to directly engage with the complaints and facilitate immediate solutions to cases that had remained unresolved.
The complaints addressed included difficulties in creating profile codes, particularly for candidates who no longer have access to telephone numbers used during previous registrations, biometric verification failures, payment-related challenges, inappropriate examination venues, e-PIN issues, technical difficulties and problems uploading required documents.
The Board said the Registrar’s direct intervention reflects his commitment to strengthening communication, improving accountability and repositioning JAMB to provide services that correspond with the fees paid by candidates.
The initiative also underscores the importance of responsive public service, particularly in an examination system where timely resolution of technical and registration challenges can significantly affect candidates’ ability to participate in the admission process.
JAMB reaffirmed its commitment to improving its service delivery mechanisms and ensuring that candidates and other stakeholders receive prompt assistance whenever they encounter difficulties with the Board’s processes.
