The Kebbi State Hisbah Board has arrested 25 youths in Argungu over their alleged involvement in immoral activities during a raid on a hotel in the town.
The Director of Shariah of the Board, Sirajo Kamba, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi.
According to Kamba, the operation was carried out on Friday, July 3, as part of the board’s ongoing campaign to curb social vices and promote moral values across the state.
He said the suspects comprise 12 males and 13 females.
“The Kebbi Hisbah Board carried out a raid at a hotel in Argungu and successfully apprehended 25 suspects allegedly involved in immoral activities,” he said.
Kamba explained that the operation forms part of the board’s efforts to maintain peace, decency and public morality in Kebbi State.
He added that the suspects would be investigated in accordance with the law, stressing that anyone found culpable would face the appropriate legal process.
