Kogi Guber: ADC, PDP supporters dump parties, join AA

By Matthew Atungwu

Ahead of the Kogi state gubernatorial election, a significant number of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and African Democratic Party (ADC) members have defected to the Action Alliance (AA).

The decampees are from four Local Governments in the Central Senatorial district namely- Adavi, Okehi, Ogori/Magongo, and Okene Local Government Areas.

The Decampee leaders took turns stating why they were leaving, citing their dissatisfaction with their previous party and their need for a leader who would act in the best interests of the general populace.

Hon. Ibrahim Omonesi, former Council Leader of Adavi Local Government, who defected from PDP said he believes that the manifesto of AA will end poverty in the State.

On his part, Hon. Fidelis Sadiq, a former PDP member noted that after his experience and encounter with Braimoh, he has decided to pitch his tent with AA for the realization of his plans to the State.

Hon. Momoh Jimoh Obeito, who dumped ADC, pointed out that Otunba Braimoh is the most serious candidate for the November 11th Governorship election in Kogi State, hence his determination to join AA to salvage the State from poverty.

Acting Chairman of AA, Deacon Fred Ambo, while receiving the decampees, welcomed them with a call to work hard to deliver the candidate of the party in the next month’s election.

In his remarks, the AA Governorship Candidate, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh thanked the defectors for taking the wise decision, urging them to embark on a ward-to ward campaign and win more members for the party.

He said he would win the election because of the recent additions to the party and other significant endorsements.

Braimoh asserted that the State can exist with its ample resources and pledged to reduce reliance on federal funding.
