Lagos Business Owner Raises Alarm Over Alleged Threats, Acid Attack on Staff Member

A young business owner in Lagos has raised concerns over alleged threats from her former boyfriend, claiming the situation escalated into an acid attack on one of her employees.

According to her account, the relationship ended several months ago, after which she allegedly began receiving threatening messages from different phone numbers. She said the matter took a tragic turn when a staff member responded to a client request and was reportedly attacked at the location with a substance later confirmed to be acid.

The victim is currently receiving medical treatment following the incident.

The matter was reported to the police and subsequently taken to court. However, the suspect was later granted bail, reportedly based on the nature of the charges filed.

The incident has sparked concerns over personal safety, accountability, and the handling of gender-based violence and assault-related cases, with calls for thorough investigation and justice for the victim.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the case as investigations continue.
