Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a formidable political force both in the state and across Nigeria.

The governor, popularly known as the “farmer governor,” made the remarks during the affirmation ceremony of the newly elected State Executive Members of the party held at the Hauwa Wali Multipurpose Hall, Government House, Minna.
He stated that the APC in Niger State successfully conducted fair and rancor-free congresses at the ward, local government and state levels, describing the process as a clear demonstration of unity within the party.
According to him, the newly affirmed officials reflect the collective choices of party members across the 25 local government areas of the state.
“APC is one family in Niger State. We have conducted ourselves well with the ward, local government and state congresses with fairness, justice and equity,” the governor said.
He appreciated the Congress Committee for overseeing what he described as a seamless exercise and called on dissenting voices within the party to embrace dialogue, assuring that the doors remain open for reconciliation.
The governor also welcomed new members into the APC fold and assured decampees of equal rights and opportunities alongside existing members.
In his remarks, the APC North Central Vice Chairman, Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, described the congresses conducted in the state as a complete success. He noted that the new officials emerged through a free, fair and transparent consensus process approved by the party’s national leadership. He commended the governor for sustaining the party’s strength in the state.
Also speaking, Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Mohammed Sani Musa, and Senator representing Niger North Senatorial District, Abubakar Sani Bello, praised the governor for his diligent management of party affairs.
They described the successful affirmation of the new state executives as proof that the “New Niger Agenda” is yielding results, assuring that the APC would remain united in delivering good governance.
Similarly, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Aliyu Abdullahi Sabi, described Niger State as a model for consensus voting and urged other states to emulate its approach.
