Olowu of Kuta Hails Adeleke’s Victory, Calls for Magnanimity, Continuity in Governance

By Auwal Ahmad Umar

The Olowu of Kuta Kingdom, HRM Oba Dr Hammed Adekunle Oyelude MakamaTegbosun III has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the governorship election, urging him to demonstrate magnanimity and sustain the development initiatives of his administration.

The traditional ruler, in a congratulatory statement issued from his palace, said the governor’s renewed mandate presented an opportunity to build on the achievements recorded during his first term and extend the benefits of governance to more residents.

Oba Oyelude urged Mr Adeleke to see the victory as a call to greater service and not merely as an electoral triumph.

He called for an inclusive approach to governance, saying the governor should use the opportunity to bring people together and accommodate diverse interests across the state.

“Victory comes with greater responsibility. I urge the governor to be magnanimous in victory and govern for all the people of Osun State,” the monarch said.

The Olowu also urged the governor to remain faithful to the commitments contained in his victory speech and translate them into practical programmes capable of improving the lives of residents.

He called on Mr Adeleke to “hit the ground running” by sustaining ongoing projects and ensuring that development initiatives already commenced by the administration receive the necessary attention.

According to the monarch, continuity is important in governance because abandoned projects deny citizens the benefits for which public resources have palready been committed.

Oba Oyelude further urged the governor to place greater emphasis on rural development during his second term.

He noted that while several urban communities had benefited considerably from the administration’s first-term interventions, rural areas needed stronger government attention in infrastructure, social services and economic development.

“The second tenure should give greater attention to rural development. Most urban areas have benefited immensely from the first tenure, and it is now important to spread development more widely across the state,” he said.

The traditional ruler also called on the governor to strengthen security and prioritise the welfare of residents, describing both as critical to sustainable development.

He said the renewed mandate offered Mr Adeleke an opportunity to consolidate his administration’s achievements, address areas requiring improvement and pursue policies that would have a direct impact on the people.

Oba Oyelude expressed confidence in the governor’s ability to use the second term to deepen his people-oriented programmes and promote balanced development across Osun State.

He wished Mr Adeleke success in the next phase of his administration and urged him to remain committed to the people who entrusted him with another mandate.
