Operation FANSAN YAMMA Troops Rescue 14 Kidnap Victims, Foil Abduction Attempt in Zamfara
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled an attempted abduction and rescued 14 kidnapped victims during a security operation in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation was conducted on August 26, 2026, following credible intelligence on suspicious activities around Magazu Village.
Acting on the information, the troops swiftly mobilised to the area and encountered armed individuals allegedly attempting to abduct civilians, including motorists.
The troops engaged the assailants, forcing them to abandon their vehicle and flee into nearby bushes.
A subsequent pursuit and search operation led to the discovery and safe rescue of 14 victims who had been abducted.
One of the rescued victims, who sustained gunshot wounds, was immediately evacuated to the General Hospital, Tsafe, for medical treatment. The victim is receiving necessary care.
No casualties were recorded among the security forces during the operation.
The successful intervention highlights the continued efforts of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt kidnapping activities, protect civilians and deny criminal elements freedom of movement across Zamfara State.
